When it comes to preparing this recipe, the star of the show is definitely the chuck roast. To ensure the highest quality and flavor, opt for locally sourced, grass-fed meat. You’re not only investing in superior flavor but also nourishing your body with wholesome, nutrient-rich protein. Let’s begin…
Ingredients:
- 3 carrots
- 4 potatoes
- 2 cups Kettle and Fire bone broth
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- Rosemary
- Bay leaves
- Sea salt to taste
Steps:
- Begin by chopping the carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic cloves.
- Massage the chuck roast with sea salt to enhance its flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- In a cast iron pot, create a bed of chopped veggies. Place the meat on top, and then add another layer of veggies.
- Pour in the bone broth until everything is covered. Add 2 sprigs of rosemary and a couple of bay leaves for extra flavor.
- Cover the pot and place it in the oven. Let it cook for approximately 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily falls apart.
- Once cooked, remove the pot from the oven. Using tongs, carefully shred the meat apart.
- Serve the chuck roast alongside the flavorful vegetables and enjoy the hearty, nourishing meal.
Why I Love Using Cast Iron Pots:
- Even heat distribution ensures thorough cooking and moisture retention.
- Versatile enough to transition from stovetop to oven.
- Built to last a lifetime, making them a worthwhile investment for your kitchen.
