My Trip to NYC

Vegetarian Food Festival. While I was there, I took advantage of the abundant options and tried a few amazing vegan restaurants! I also caught up with a couple friends and discussed collaborating on some exciting projects.

I was honored to be a speaker at the 2017 NYC Vegetarian Food Festival, where I got to connect with some amazing and inspirational people — including many of YOU, my wonderful Rawvana Family! While there, I led two workshops: one on cauliflower “rice” and one on digestion smoothies.

I’d like to share a little bit with you about what (and where) I ate in New York, as well as mention a couple of the great people I caught up with. And I’ll hint at a couple upcoming projects I have in store for you guys!

First of all, THANK YOU for your wonderful recommendations on where to eat while I was there! You recommended Wild Ginger on Instagram, and it was amazing. You guys rock! Another great restaurant I tried was The Butcher’s Daughter.

While in New York, I caught up with Mauricio Gonzalez. Mauricio is a friend with whom I collaborated on a post about 7 powerful keys to losing weight, and we’re planning to team up again! Expect to see a video on the facts and myths of dairy coming up on my YouTube channel.

My superfood salad from Whole Foods was a delicious and nutritious combination of healthy fats, good carbs, protein, greens, and fruit, all tied together with a delicious dressing.

Of course, no NYC trip is complete without a visit to Central Park. My picnic there included by absolute favorite fruit, watermelon.

On my last day in New York, I had an orange and some coconut water before heading to lunch at Terri, a vegan restaurant full of amazing, flavorful, creative food. While I was there, I caught up with Jenné Claiborne of Sweet Potato Soul. Jenné is such a vibrant woman, and I can’t wait to make a video with her to share with you guys!

I was supposed to leave after that, but the airport was packed and I missed my flight. If you’re curious to see how I had a vegan meal at Costco (of all places), check out the video!

Taking part in the 2017 NYC Vegetarian Food Festival was such a pleasure, largely because of my opportunity to connect in person with so many of you! It makes all of this feel so real to me when I get to meet you guys in person.

Thank you so much for watching the video. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite restaurants in New York are, and what you think of the restaurants I tried in this video!

Love you!
