Three Beverages for Constipation

Christmas is over and I don’t know about you, but I ate a looooooot! So in this blog, I’m gonna give you some tips for, uh… cleaning out your body, if you know what I mean…

Serves 1

Here are three different beverage recipes for three levels of constipation!

Level 1: haven’t gone in 1 day

SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:
2 cups of pineapple
1” piece of aloe vera
1 cup of papaya
1 tablespoon flax seed
1 cup green tea

Method:

  1. Blend everything.

Level 2: haven’t gone in the past 3 days

WATER

Ingredients:
1” piece of aloe vera
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon ginger
cayenne powder to taste
1 lemon
2 cups water

Method:

  1. Juice the lemon and discard the peel.
  2. Put the lemon juice in a glass with the water, and add all the other ingredients.
  3. Mix very well!

Level 3: you can’t remember the last time you went:

TEA

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 lemon
1 small bag of licorice root
1 pineapple

Method:

  1. Peel a fresh pineapple, then put the peel in a pot with plenty of water.
  2. Bring it to a boil and let it steep for 10 minutes to create pineapple peel tea. You’ll use one cup of this.
  3. Juice the lemon and add the juice to 1 cup of pineapple peel tea.
  4. Add the ginger, cinnamon, and licorice, and mix well.

(Don’t drink more than two a day!)

Whew! I hope you’re feeling some relief after these drinks! Constipation can be so miserable that you promise yourself that you’ll never overeat again, but after drinking these, you’re probably ready to indulge for New Years! (Wait, is that a good thing?!)

Remember: eat an abundance of vibrant, simple foods on a daily basis, but it’s okay indulge in richer recipes (like the ones I posted for Christmas) once in a while.
